The story of Eleonora is told and deepened by a free musical improvisation on easy-to-play sound instruments by young and old participants from the age of 4. We delve into Eleonora’s inner world and understand her thoughts and wishes for a new world.

The story was specially written by music teacher Martin Boes and makes reference to a well-known work in the Bielefeld Kunsthalle. He also guides us narratively through the impressive musical improvisation.
After the sound story, the children will certainly be able to find it in the museum and reflect on Eleonora’s story visually.

Children and young people up to the age of 18 have free admission.

Students of art history at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, together with their professor Dr. Timo Skrandies, invite you to explore the exhibition in small groups. We connect with the narratives of the images. We stroll through the exhibition and experience how art connects us with the past and the future. When art connects us with the past, we become an archive for the future. This keeps us awake and gives our battered planet new hope. Sounds exciting? We meet at the “Werkinsel” and start our tours at 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00.

Cost: included in admission (free admission for students)

The Kunsthalle’s “work island” becomes an “art island”, no: a “dream island”. Let’s follow the “dreams of the owl”! Students of art history at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and their professor Dr. Timo Skrandies invite you to heal our wounded planet with the means of art. How can that work? And why should “art” in particular be able to do this? Come along, have a look, think, have a say and … do it! By the way, you can do this at any age. We are there – from 12.00 to 18.00.
Costs: included in admission (free admission for pupils, trainees and students)

We are now living in a planetary age. Humans know that, as living beings, they are part of larger contexts on which they depend and for which they bear responsibility. We are powerful and powerless at the same time. This fragile, vulnerable “position in the cosmos” (Scheler) is also expressed in art. Art and nature are connected, which is why we can put our relationship to nature to the test and change it through aesthetic experience. This lecture deals with the relationship between man, art and nature on the basis of the exhibited works.

Bitte trage bequeme Kleidung.
