It contains three busts bearing the faces of three of history&#8217;s most famous thinkers: the writer and women&#8217;s rights activist Olympe de Gouges, the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud and the mathematician and physicist Albert Einstein. Here, however, the three famous personalities are designed as plant pots. Plants grow where the brain and hair are normally found. Thinking, as one could interpret it, connects people with nature and the world that surrounds them. All three historical thinkers were concerned with people and their relationship to the world. This topic is also the focus of current research on the Anthropocene. The women&#8217;s rights activist De Gouges tried to change the social structures that influence an individual&#8217;s life from the outside. Sigmund Freud examined the inner life of human beings. Albert Einstein, on the other hand, tried to understand the world in its larger context through calculations and theories. All of these approaches are still relevant today, but are being changed by new perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Scientists who deal with theories on the Anthropocene focus less on humans. Instead, their considerations are based on the intersections and interactions between social, technical and biological zones of influence (sociosphere, technosphere, biosphere). Human knowledge and our image of science have changed again and again throughout history. What role do both play in the Anthropocene? This concrete pavilion offers a seating and table area where people can come together. The title of the pavilion refers to the International Institute for Intellectual Cooperation. This was a predecessor institution of UNESCO, which existed in Paris from 1926 to 1946.
