That is the subject of this work. The artist uses an X-ray machine that is normally used at airports for security checks. But instead of scanning suitcases or luggage, he focuses on his own body and various objects. The two panels of the work &#8211; a so-called diptych &#8211; look like shadowy silhouettes that show the body in a kind of &#8216;inner landscape&#8217;. Details such as skin or face are no longer recognizable, only a pair of pointed shoes suggest that it is Klauke himself. Klauke&#8217;s work shows how tools such as the X-ray machine expand our understanding of ourselves on the one hand, but also reveal the limits of this perception on the other. What remains of &#8216;man&#8217; when technology reduces him to a schematic representation? And how does this way of seeing influence our connection to the world?<\/p>\n<p>In the age of smartphones and artificial intelligence in particular, J\u00fcrgen Klauke&#8217;s work takes on a new relevance: the shades of gray and the overlapping of forms in <em>self-discovery<\/em> make us think about the levels of inside and outside. Where does man end and the technology he uses begin? People and their technology are increasingly inextricably intertwined.
