The dark background of the canvas is in dialog with the soft, subdued rays of light that break through the darkness. Lo Savio’s work transports us into a world in which the boundaries between light and space are renegotiated. Light plays a special role in many religions and meditative practices. A symbolic light of knowledge is often derived from the vital, natural light.
